This is my friend, Mauricio. I met him 5 years ago when he first came to El Puente as a recovering addict. He has been clean for 4 years and now works at El Puente. I found out 3 years ago that he’s a great Chess Player so whenever I’m here, we get up at 4:30am to play Chess. We have become brothers.
Today he was baptized!!!
“.. don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3-4)
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2nd Corinthians 5:17)
This evening we’re having a celebration for him. Praise God.
