You can prepare for everything and anything before a missions trip but until you actually get here you can never fully know just how fulfilling and amazing it is. We took a whole day just to get here, we arrived at 1:30am and then 7 hours later woke up to start the day. Our first day was here at the campus of Vision Nicaragua where we took a tour and painted the bedrooms. We got to hear the leader’s vision of what they want to do with this place and I couldn’t help but be inspired with their dreams. “God is already at work here” kept running through my mind.
The people here are one of the friendliest and loving people I have ever been around, they live in such poverty but are willing to give us the best food and drink when we arrive to help them. The 26 of us were simply amazed on what God is already doing in Nicaragua and here we arrived to just join in. I was reminded yet again that it’s not like we bring Jesus in our backpacks with us. He is already working in the hearts and minds of these people. We just need to be open to what God wants us to do.
I truly believe that a person does not change until they start seeing the world differently. And this mission trip has already opened our eyes to a whole new way of how God works. Can’t wait until tomorrow!
