Good Evening from Altagracia, Nicaragua! The New Hope Community Senior High team arrived in Nicaragua on time this afternoon and they’ve been making their way toward Altagracia here on the island of Ometepe. I just spoke with Don, our awesome setup guy, who met the team at the airport. They made the 4pm ferry (just barely – it was divine intervention that they held the ferry for them for 5 minutes to get their luggage on. If nothing else is prompt here, the ferry leaves on time!) and are just about to arrive in Moyogalpa at 5pm Nicaragua time. They should be here at the hotel within an hour or so!
We have spent time with Pastor Elder of Holiness Way church here both yesterday and today making final preparations for the team. This included a 5km bicycle trip into the plantain groves to purchase wood for extending the roof of the church which is a project the group will be working on. More details to come, but this week is going to be AWESOME! God has laid a spiritual foundation with this two year old church of about 75 people. The team is going to be a huge blessing, building on this foundation through a variety of outreaches and prayer. The expectation is that many people will come to know the saving power of Jesus through their obedience to come to this little corner of the world.
I will do my best to confirm with another post after they arrive here, but access to the internet has been a little sporadic this afternoon. Please know that they are on the island and just a 40 minute bus ride (on good roads) from their destination.
